Abstract

Absorption, fluorescence, fluorescence-excitation and two-photon excitation (TPE) spectra of the trans dimer of acenaphthylene at 77 K are reported. The fluorescence spectrum in n-octane indicates the presence of two origins at 31125 and 31055 cm-1 arising from "intramolecular exciton splitting", and due respectively to the u-and g-excitonic states.
