Abstract

A time-resolved study of emission, following selective excitation of the 5D1, 5D2 and 5D3 levels of Eu3+ in Na3Eu(C4H4O5)3·2NaClO4·6H2O (EuDG) using a pulsed dye laser is reported. On excitation of 5D2 (F) the emission from 5D0 exhibits a fast and a slow build-up. This has been explained by involving two independent decay modes of 5D2.
