Abstract

We derive the existence of bright gap soliton solution for nonlinear-coupled mode equations, which governs the pulse propagation in fiber Bragg grating. We find the occurrence of symmetry-breaking instability in gap soliton for arbitrary values of detuning parameter. We confirm this instability by linear stability analysis, potential well plots and phase-plane diagrams.
