Abstract

At room temperature, the double butterfly complex [{(CO)6Fe2(μ-Se)2}2,(C(Ph)-C(H)] reacted with Pt(C2H4)(PPh3)2 to give [(CO)6Fe2(μ-SeC(Ph)C(H)Se)], [(CO)6Fe2Pt(PPh3)2{μ-SeC(Ph)(H)Se}] and [(CO)6Fe23-Se)2Pt(PPh3)2]. It reacted with dppe to form the substituted derivative [{(CO)5Fe2(μ-Se)2}2C(Ph)C(H)(μ-dppe)], which was subjected to an X-ray diffraction analysis. The crystal of [{(CO)5Fe2(μ-Se)2}2C(Ph)C(H)(μ-dppe)] is triclinic with the space group P1̅, a = 12.969(1), b = 13.032(1), c = 18.669(1) Å, α = 76.81(1), β = 72.74(1), γ = 63.99(1)°, Z= 2. The structure was refined by the block-matrix least squares method. The final R and Rw values were 0.0435 and 0.0492 respectively.
