Abstract

An appropriate "long-time" approximation for the quenched fluorescence intensity decay equation indicates that the usually ignored pre-exponential term is physically significant. Experimental and simulated quenched fluorescence decay data are used to validate the practical usefulness of the "long-time" approximation.
