Abstract

A theory of four wave mixing for atoms in a cavity is developed. The strong interaction with the cavity field leads to new resonances in four wave mixing signals which also exhibit superradiant like effects. Dressed states corresponding to both single photon and two photon excitations contribute to the signal. Effects of photon leakage and spontaneous emission from atoms are included.
