Abstract

Equations for temperature dependence of the viscosity by Arrhenius, Hildebrand, and Andrade were comapared for the liquid alkali metals, potassium, Na, Cs, Li and Rb. The Andrade expression was found to provide the best description of the viscosity-temperature behavior over extensive temperature ranges. All elements except Li displayed a simple semi-logarithmic linear relation. Lithium appeared to have three distinctly different regions of fluid flow between 460-3400K.
