Abstract

The flow of both Newtonian liquids and shear-thinning polymer solutions through fine mesh screens has been studied and results have been expressed as a loss coefficient-Reynolds number relationship. A single correlation covers both types of fluids over Reynolds numbers ranging from 10-5 to 5.
