Abstract

The selectivity in the hydroformylation of 1-decene by homogeneous catalysis with HRh-(CO) (PPhf3)3 was studied. Aromatic solvents (benzene, toluene) gave total selectivity to aldehyde products, but alcoholic solvents gave higher n/iso ratios. The presence of an excess of phosphine also led to improved n/iso ratios.
