Abstract

A new approach for the determination of liquid-solid-mass-transfer coefficients under reaction conditions is presented. The method described is based on the analysis of three-phase catalytic reactor data using catalysts with different surface activities. The hydrogenation of styrene over Pd-alumina in a basket-type catalytic reactor was used as a model system.
