Abstract

Incorporation of 14C-8-adenine and 14C-2-uracil into nuclear (nRNA) and a cytoplasmic high molecular weight RNA (hRNA) during embryonic development of sea urchin has been studied. An analysis of kinetic data suggests that the rate of flow of newly synthesized RNA from nucleus to cytoplasm in post-gastrula stage is 10-15 times higher than that in cleavage and blastula stage.
