Abstract

Reaction of [NH4]2[WVIOS3](1) with elemental iodine in aqueous solution leads to [WV2O2(µ-S)2(S2)2]2-, isolable as the [NEt4]+ salt (2) which is converted back into (1) by Sx2-, via induced electron-transfer processes.
