Abstract

New synthetic methods for the preparation of dimeric tungsten(V) complexes are described containing the core [W2XY(µ-S)2]2+ (X=O,S; Y=O,S). The synthesized complexes have been characterized by a variety of spectroscopic techniques. [W2OS(µ-S)2(S2CNEt2)2] has been found to react with cyanide to give [W2O2(µ-S)2(S2CNEt2)2].
