Abstract

Acoustic emission study of electric fatigue in hot pressed PLZT ceramics during DC field poling and AC field switching shows that the count rate for domain switching is nearly two order of magnitude smaller than that for microcracking. The amplifier gain setting can be used to discriminate the two processes.
