Abstract

The structural features of important families of oxide ferroelectrics and superconductors are reviewed to establish the crystal chemical similarities. Some of the parameters contributing to the structural stability and influencing the respective transition temperatures are considered. The location of most of the known ferroelectrics and superconductors are depicted in two ternary composition diagrams.
