Abstract

Amyl alcohol was a better medium than both benzyl alcohol and dichloromethane for preparation of magnesia suspensions for electrophoretic deposition. An abnormal increase in deposition yield rate observed at concentrations > 20 g/100 cm3 was attributed to drag forces. Grinding (for up to 8.5 h) had no effect on deposit weight. Deposit weight increased predictably as the distance between the two electrodes was decreased, or as voltage or time of deposition was increased.
