Abstract

Even though the interior of the sun is not directly accessible to observations, it is nonetheless possible to infer the physical conditions inside the sun using the theory of stellar structure and the accurately measured frequencies of solar oscillations. The heloiseismic data has provided a powerful tool to probe the sun and also to test physical theories describing its internal constitution.
