Abstract

The transverse momenta of quark partons are shown to significantly dilute the moderate-Q2 broken-SU (6) constraints on the leading spin-dependent deep inelastic electromagnetic structure function of the proton. A realistic calculation of the latter is performed incorporating these effects as well as those of the quantum chromodynamic evolution to higher Q2.
