Abstract

The NMR spectra of oriented molecules increase in complexity with the number of coupled sins. It is shown that two-dimen-sional correlated spectroscopy provides a powerful technique for "filtering" the spectra of symmetric oriented molecules into their component irreducible representations, thereby considerably aiding the analysis of such spectra. This is demonstrated for two six-spin systems, acetone and benzene, oriented in the nematic phase.
