Abstract

Nanocrystalline Ni3Fe particles with sizes in the range 9.4-19.6 nm were synthesized within a silica gel matrix. Mossbauer spectra of all the nanocomposites were investigated. The analysis of the results show that the hyperfine field Hhf increases as the particle size is reduced. This indicates that the atomic disorder in this alloy increases as the particle size is decreased.
