Abstract

Nanocrystalline Pb 1-x Znx (Zr0.53Ti0.47)O3 (where x = 0, 0.04, 0.08 and 0.12) abbreviated as PZZT has been synthesized by high-energy ball milling of mixture of oxides (mechanical alloying, MA). Detailed analysis of XRD patterns of this composition suggests the formation of single phase. The substitution of Zn 2+ cation at the Pb site shows the decrease in the electrical properties, the broadening of permittivity peak and decrease in phase transition temperature (Tc).
