Abstract

Equatorial nighttime and daytime scintillation data at VHF have been examined to study the effect of magnetic activity on the ionospheric irregularities responsible for scintillations. Scintillation activity is found to increase during periods of high magnetic activity. The results are discussed in the light of the current theories of ionospheric irregularities
