Abstract

A novel recyclable protocol is developed for the oxidation of secondary and tertiary amines to nitrones and amine N-oxides, respectively, by Mg-Al-OtBu hydrotalcite (HT-OtBu) catalyst, and benzonitrile as an additive in methanol using 30% hydrogen peroxide at a faster rate in quantitative yields for the first time.
