Abstract

The heavy fermion system CeCu6 does not order magnetically down to 20 mK. We report measurements of AC susceptibility, resistivity and magnetoresistance on (Ce1-xTbx)Cu6 compounds. The compound with x = 0.5 shows antiferromagnetic ordering at 6.8 K. The temperature dependence of zero field reistivity shows a minimum in the temperature range 40-60 K for 0.1 ≤ x ≤ 0.5. The Kondo coherence peak disappears even for x = 0.1. The magnetoresistance study at 4.2 K up to fields of 4.5 T shows a negative magnetoresistance which decreases with increasing x.
