Abstract

At ambient pressure Lu5lr4Si10 is known to superconduct below 3.9 K and to undergo a strongly coupled CDW ordering transition below 83 K. On the application of pressure the TC is enhanced and a simultaneous decrease of TCDWW is observed. However, the isostructural compound Lu5Ir4Ge10 does not show any CDW ordering as expected (at a higher temperature) from this pressure behavior. Here we present our DC susceptibility and resistivity measurements to show the evolution of TC and TCDWW with increasing Ge concentration in the alloy system Lu5Ir4(Si1-xGex)10.
