Abstract

A highly regioselective, environmentally safe and economical method for oxybromination of both protected and unprotected anilines and phenols is possible through electrophilic substitution of bromine generated in situ from KBr using ammonium molybdate as a catalyst and H2O2 as a reoxidant for the first time.
