Abstract

The structure of 2-dicyanomethylene-1,3-dioxolane has been determined from X-ray diffraction data. The compound crystallizes in the chiral space group Cc and has two molecules in the asymmetric unit. The correlation between the molecular packing and the second-harmonic generation (SHG) is discussed.
