Abstract

Samples of Chapri oxidized Cu ore containing 0.63% Cu were leached with dilute sulfuric acid employing column leaching and agitation leaching. From the leach liquors, Cu was recovered as a sulfuric concentrate (containing 20-30% Cu) by H2S precipitation followed by flotation. The results suggest that is it possible to recover > 75% Cu by leaching the ore with dilute H2SO4 at pH 1.5-2.0.
