Abstract

Room temperature microstructures, tensile properties, void formation and surface roughening due to deformation, forming limit diagrams (FLDs) and strain distributions in punch stretching in sheets of Al-Cu-Mg, Al-Mg and Al-Mn alloys are described. The interdependence between the metallurgical variables and the mechanical properties is shown to be complicated.
