Abstract

An attempt is made to relate the high energy backward scattering data for π p → π p process to the dominance of the light cone singularities in the product of the pion source currents. The quantity s3dσ/dt , plotted as a function of scattering angle, appears to follow a universal curve in this region and suggests the scale dimension two for the pion source current.
