Abstract

Resonance Raman and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopies have been used to study the charge- transfer reactions of adsorbed hexacyanoferrate(ii) on colloidal TiO2. The spectroscopic results are analysed in terms of the molecular symmetry imposed by the various possible orientations of hexacyanoferrate(ii) on the TiO2 surface. It is concluded that the hexacyanoferrate(ii) is adsorbed onto colloidal TiO2 via either one or Two CN groups.
