Abstract

AC resistivities of borate glasses containing pentavalent antimony or arsenic ions of a maximum fraction of 0.3 have been measured over the temperature range 90 to 350 K. A sharp minimum in resistivity is observed for all the samples at a temperature around 315 K. The ac resistivity variation at temperatures lower than 290 K can be explained on the basis of overlapping large polaron tunnelling (OLPT) mechanism.
