Abstract

The simultaneous iteration method of obtaining the eigenfrequencies and eigenvectors is utilized for solving torsional vibration problems. The finite element approach is adapted to predict the behaviour of the system. The effectiveness of the method is illustrated by employing it to the solution of the torsional vibration problem of a circular shaft, a conical shaft, a two-rotor system and a composite structure.
