Abstract

Stimulated emission spectroscopy is used to measure the frequencies of the van der Waals bending and stretching modes in the ground electronic state of the OH-Ar complex correlating with OH(X 2) + Ar(1S0). The results are compared with those predicted using an ab initio potential energy surface. Encouraging agreement between experiment and theory is obtained, particularly for the van der Waals bending modes.
