Abstract

An attempt has been made to obtain an expression for the rate of stellar mass loss using dimensional analysis. The best expression for O and B stars is of the form: M·=A' (1/G½c4) L2 (R/M)3/2. It is also found that A' increases as one goes from B→O stars and from O→O(f)→O(f)), but is not sensitive to luminosity.
