Abstract

The relaxation kernels appearing in Mori's continued fraction expansion of the velocity auto-correlation function at first two states have been calculated for liquid rubidium using the mode coupling approximation. The results for the frequency spectrum obtained from the relaxation kernels of the first three stages have been compared with each other and with molecular dynamics data. It is found that only the first stage relaxation kernel gives good agreement with molecular dynamics results.
