Abstract

We report observation of a peak/minimum in the flux-flow thermoelectric power Sf (H) of underdoped, optimally doped, and overdoped Pr2-xCexCuO4-δepitaxial films. This distinctive feature, seen for the first time in a high-Tc superconductor, comes from a strong vortex contribution to the total thermopower of the system. In as much as the sign of Sf (H) is directly related to the charged state of diffusing quasiparticles and vortices, our observation provides further support for a two-carrier model for charge transport in these cuprates.
