Abstract

Transition metal comolexes of N, N'-octylenebis (monothioacetyl-acetoneimine) (L2) with resoective metal chlorioes and acetates have been synthesized and characterízed by elemental analyses, soectroscopic (IR, lH and 13C NMR and electronic) and magnetic data. Adduct complexes of square planar nickel(II) complexes from the above ligand L2 and N, N'-hexylenebis (monothioacetylace-toneimine) (L1) have been prepared with pyridine, benzimidazole and 8-hydroxyquinoline. Complexes and adduct complexes were screened for their antifungal activities against H. oryzae and R. solani, fungi responsible for damaging local crops, particularly rice and Cajanus cajan.
