Abstract
The lateral stability of orthotropic cantilever beams of a unidirectional laminate has been studied using a high precision triangular plate finite element. The beam was subjected to a uniformly distributed load on the top edge. Critical loads were obtained for various fibre orientations and aspect ratios.
