Abstract

The structure of himachalene monohydrochloride has been elucidated and it is shown that in the hydrochloride the ring-junction trans. The products resulting from the dehydrohalogenation of this monohydrochloride have been fully characterized and one of them is shown to be trans-α-himachalene.
