Abstract

Isolation and structure elucidation of oxidohimachalene, a minor constituent of the essential oil of Cedrus deodara Loud., is described. A biomimetic-type conversion of β-himachalene into oxidohimachalene employing photochemical hydroxylation or "copper peroxide" oxygenation is reported.
