Abstract

Large amplitude free vibration characteristics of cylindrically orthotropic, tapered circular plates elastically restrained against rotation at the edges, are obtained using a simple finite element formulation. An annular tapered circular plate element is used for the analysis. The resulting nonlinear equations are solved by employing an iterative method. The results in the form of the ratio of nonlinear to linear periods are presented in tables.
