Abstract

A general finite element formulation is employed in this note to evaluate the post-buckling behaviour of linearly tapered moderately thick isotropic circular plates subjected to thermal load. The details of finite element formulation and the numerical results in terms of linear critical load and thermal load ratios in the post-buckling range for different thicknesses and taper parameter values are presented.
