Abstract

Structure, electrical and superconducting properties of the alloy Chevrel phases, Pb1-xAxMo6S8 (A = Ag, In and Bi) and (Ag0.5In0.5)- and (Ag0.67Zr0.33)Mo6S8 have been studied. The compounds are metallic but the details of the conduction mechanism seem to be complicated. Superconductivity is retained in all of the alloy phases but Tc is highest only for PbMo6S8.
