Abstract
A detailed qualitative and quantitative investigation of foraminifera from DSDP Site 219 (Arabian Sea) has enabled us to identify a new, distinctive benthic foraminiferal genus, Neopleurostomella, in the Middle Miocene to Early Pliocene deep sea sequences.
