Abstract

We calculate the Rayleigh-Brillouin light scattering spectrum from a newtonian fluid undergoing a plane Coutte flow using the Landau-Lifshitz method of fluctuating hydrodynamics. Our results for both the Rayleigh and the Brillouin lines differ significantly from all the previous results.
