Abstract

The convection flow of a viscoelastic fluid, infinitely extended beyond a vertical wall in the presence of a uniform suction, is examined. The response of the flow generated by the suction (when it is present) and the initiation of the vertical flow caused by the fluctuating field in the fluid, through the medium of buoyancy force, is studied. Various equations are solved giving attention to skin friction decreases, Prandtl numbers and suction velocity and it was found that skin friction decreases with an increase in the magnetic field and the effect of suction velocity on skin friction, at the wall, is very small.
