Abstract
Stereo- and enantiospecific synthesis of (+)-valerane starting from R-carvone utilising orthoester Claisen rearrangement and intramolecular diazo ketone cyclopropanation reactions for the construction of the two vicinal quaternary carbon atoms is described.
