Abstract

A classification scheme for some self-consistent solutions of the modified Einstein equations Gik = 8ρG<Tik>vac is described. The instability of the Nariai metric on S2×S2 is investigated and it is shown that this metric decays into asymptotically de Sitter and Kasner like space-times.
