Abstract

The results of heat capacity, electrical resistivity and AC susceptibility measurements on a new compound, Eu2PdSi3, and its Y substituted alloys are reported. The parent compound exhibits two magnetic transitions- at 40 and 10 K -arising from two crystallographically inequivalent divalent Eu ions. The magnetism in the Y substituted alloys are dominated by disorder effects.
